Marriage is Murder
By Aimee Nicole Walker

Sawyer and Royce: Matrimony and Mayhem, Book 2
Spring is in full bloom, love is in the air, and Cupid has taken deadly aim in Savannah.
Newly engaged, Royce Locke and Sawyer Key are ready to set the date and charge full-steam ahead into their happily ever after, but homicides and unresolved conflicts keep getting in their way. Neither detective has met a case they couldn’t solve, but their latest investigations will push their limits and challenge their faith when the line between friend and foe becomes blurred. And if that weren’t enough, a random encounter with a stranger will trigger a series of events that could either make or break the couple.
Love—often a thriller, sometimes a killer, but always worth the battle.
Marriage is Murder is book two in the Matrimony and Mayhem trilogy, the second story arc for Royce Locke and Sawyer Key.
** New readers should start with the Zero Hour trilogy before reading Matrimony and Mayhem. ** Marriage is Murder is a continuation of Royce and Sawyer’s happily ever after as they move into the next phase of their lives—professionally and personally. Though some storylines span the trilogy, this book does not end in a cliffhanger. Heat, humor, heart, and homicide abound. You have been warned. 18+

Review
This is the second book in the sequel series to Zero Hour and cannot be read as a standalone as they follow the same couple.
Another fun installment in the life of Royce and Sawyer, newly engaged and planning a wedding with a dash of murder on the side.
The best thing when you’re reading about an established couple is all those cute domestic moments and banter along with seeing them grow so much throughout the books. Give me all the domestic stuff!!!!
I enjoyed the mystery and it had a fun twist. The cold case is minor in this book and I’m looking forward to finding out more in the final book. Gonna miss them!
I love the side characters, especially Tara and Candy, who are so in love with each other! Also I’m so with Royce, there’s definitely something going on with their chief Mendoza and Abe lol

Sawyer glanced up to where Bones stretched out on the highest perch of his tree. The damn thing was so big Royce had anchored it to the wall in several places. His man had loved having to bust out his drill to assemble the tree and his stud finder to make sure he was securing it properly. Sawyer had a stud for Royce to find and something he could drill. Lord, it sounded like he was writing a porn script. He chuckled.
Meow.
Sawyer walked over to his beautiful boy and scratched his chin. “I put the scary vacuum away, Bones.”
He’d been too worked up by the conversation his mother had instigated at the end of the meal and again when she’d dropped him off at home. He’d had to do something to work it off and decided to try out Royce’s newest toy, cleaning under the bed and between the couch cushions with the long, thin attachment.
Bones assessed him coolly, still unsure if he would forgive Sawyer for disrupting his peaceful bird watching with the loud machine. The big beast couldn’t resist Sawyer’s charms for long and soon began purring loudly, moving his head to help Sawyer’s fingers find the right spot. Sawyer felt his tension fade and chastised himself for getting so worked up in the first place. Evangeline had simply asked him if he’d planned to run for sheriff.“I don’t know,” he’d answered honestly.
“Do you want to talk about it?” He’d only heard concern in her voice, not pressure.“Nope.” He’d thought that would be the end of it, but Sawyer should’ve known better.
Evangeline had just waited until she’d pulled into his driveway before trying a different approach.
“What’s holding you back from making a decision?” He wasn’t ready to delve too deeply into the subject, but he’d had to give her something.
“The biggest concern is lack of privacy,” Sawyer admitted. It felt like someone had opened a valve and released a little pressure, so he shared a little more. “Everything I do and everyone I love would be under a microscope.”
Evangeline had arched a dark brow and peered at him with a mixture of humor and concern. “And you don’t think we’ll hold up under the scrutiny?”
Sawyer scrubbed a hand over his face. “That’s not what I meant.” But who or what was he trying to protect? His loved ones or his pride? He’d looked down at his left hand. The diamonds in his platinum engagement band glittered in the sunlight, sparking pure joy in his soul. The ring and all the promises it entailed were the future he wanted to focus on, not some misguided revenge plot..
