Just as Nicholas, Seiji and the fencing team at the prodigious Kings Row private school seem to be coming together, a deadly rival from their past stands in their way once more. MacRobertson is the school that knocked Kings Row out of the State Championships last year – but unless Nicholas and Seiji can learn to work together as a team, their school is doomed once again! And maybe those two can learn to be something more than teammates too…
Review
We return to Kings Row with the fourth volume of Fence comic series and I loved it so much!
I loved seeing the friendship develop between each of the teammates. The romance is not central and it’s a huge slow burn. But there’s a lot of character development in this one. I loved the moments between Seiji and Nicholas in their room. Also the one with Aiden and Harvard! (They are my favourites)
It’s fascinating to learn a lot about fencing as I didn’t know much before this series. This volume focuses the value of teamwork even in an individual sport.
I’ve read an ARC of the full length novel Fence: Striking Distance that takes place after this volume (it focuses more on the relationships) and it’s absolutely amazing.
If you love sports stories (especially sports animes) with slowburn enemies to lovers, stunningly diverse and equally important supporting cast, definitely read this series!
